What we shipped

Key outcomes

  • 250+ hours of Drupal 10 engineering over 2023–2025 — features, stability, performance
  • Built the Ovulation Calendar section + a custom BAM content-tracking module
  • Front-end in Gesso atomic-design Storybook — components reviewed in isolation with a11y addon

March of Dimes is a US nonprofit focused on maternal and infant health. Their public platform runs on Drupal 10, and across 2023–2025 we've contributed 250+ hours of engineering — features, fixes, performance, and the back-office plumbing behind them.

The visible work includes new site sections — most notably an Ovulation Calendar that helps users track fertility cycles — plus a custom BAM module for editorial content tracking, work on the Webform API integrations, and external-API exchanges over Guzzle for data and registration flows. Front-end and back-end work sat in the same engagement, debugged through xDebug with structured testing rather than browser-poking.

The front-end is where the platform reads differently from a typical Drupal build. The theme — Forum One's Gesso — is wired into an atomic-design Storybook: 00-config, 01-global, 02-layouts, 03-components, 04-templates, 05-pages, 06-utility. Twig namespaces in Storybook match Drupal exactly, so a component is designed, reviewed and a11y-checked in isolation — then bound to Drupal templates without a re-render dance. The result is a design system the team can extend with confidence: a new section is a new story first, a Drupal change second.

March of Dimes — Gesso Storybook view: the atomic-design component library (00-config / 01-global / 02-layouts / 03-components / 04-templates / 05-pages) the theme is built from
Gesso theme in Storybook: 160+ component stories across the atomic-design layers, with the same Twig that ships into Drupal and an a11y addon in the review loop.
